[Rovio Mobile] Angry Birds Magic NFC Free v1.01(0) Symbian Anna/Belle Signed

What could be better than Angry Birds? Well, one answer is Angry Birds with friends, and that’s the aim of the latest release from Rovio, previewing at this week’s WIMA conference – the calendar’s leading event for all things NFC (Near field Communications). So how does it work? Find out more below.

How about a game that positively encourages you to seek out strangers and talk to them? Angry Birds Free with Magic – launching at WIMA – contains twenty levels of the traditional pig-pelting action. But you can’t do it all on your own.

Five of the levels are as normal. But at that point you need to find a friend with an NFC-enabled phone, as the remaining levels are inter-spliced with ones that can only be unlocked when you touch phones with someone else. Finding one friend will unlock five more levels. A second friend will unlock another five, and a third the remaining five.

There’s also a second way to unlock levels: through using NFC tags – which might be embedded in any item or object. We understand clues as to their locations will be forthcoming…

“With Angry Birds Magic, friends can group together to combat the pig menace, in a new take on the game that so many people all over the world have fallen love with,” said Mikael Hed from Rovio. “This is an exclusive offering with the Nokia C7, a smartphone that really kicks off the NFC experience for developers. In time, the communal power of users with Angry Birds Magic could prove even stronger than the Mighty Eagle.”

Angry Birds Free with Magic will come preinstalled on the Nokia C7 as part of the Symbian Anna update. It will also be included on all of Nokia’s NFC-enabled devices in 2011. Meanwhile, the Rovio programmers are hard at work creating a full version of Magic – to be made available through Ovi Store – that will have more levels and more ways to harness the power of NFC.

Nokia’s Bryan Biniak, head of Ovi Publish, told us: “Angry Birds Magic is a great demonstration of NFC technology and we’re delighted to have it exclusive to Nokia. It represents an exciting opportunity for developers to create new, innovative apps and games.”

    A new quasi-boss fight (shown in screenshot below). I say quasi because you’re not trying to defeat a character from the movie, but rather the plane is flying away from you with crates flying out the back. It’s similar to a normal level, but with more action.

Birdy Nam Nam – The Story
It all started in Dubai in 2011. A group of Arabic scientists were experimenting a new drug on chickens and everything was going as planned. The drug was supposed to make the chickens the new man’s best friend. They would clean the house, do the dishes and laundry, cook healthy meals… Well simply make our life easier! But something went terribly wrong.. The drug had a side effect which made the chickens aggressive, human haters and killing machines! They killed the scientists and fled the laboratories and started invading Dubai, throwing their deadly eggs all over the place. You could see that they wouldn’t stop there; they will never stop unless they take control over the world! Alongside their deadly invasion, they quickly spread over the Arabic countries and started forming clans and planning their deadly attacks. The world was really falling apart, people were crazily afraid, and the faith of the human race was uncertain. One person however stood up against them, then they quickly killed him, another one did stand up as well, but again they killed him… Until, one fierce guy, who really hates only two things in life: chicken and eggs, decided to fight them and rescue humanity! Join us to see if his mission will be successful or not.

Gameplay
Just tap and play! The game is very easy to figure out, all that’s needed is tapping on the chickens flying all around on your screen to blow them up! Their eggs are bad too, so you might as well shoot those.

This release includes 19 well drafted and thought levels. Each of them takes place in a different Arabic country such as KSA, UAE, Beirut, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Qatar, etc. They feature their own weapons, ammo and kind of characters. Some of the levels need precision, some need speed, other need concentration, but what they all have in common is the 100% guaranteed pure fun, laughs and joy of playing!
